God, Are You There? Oh, There You Are.

“Why do You stand afar off, O LORD?

Why do You hide in times of trouble? . . .

Arise, O LORD! O God, lift up Your hand!

Do not forget the humble. . . .

But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief,

To repay it by Your hand.

The helpless commits himself to You;

You are the helper of the fatherless.” (Psalms 10:1, 12, 14 NKJV)

The heavens are brass. I feel so alone.

The enemy lurks outside of my home.

I cry out to God, yet sense not His peace.

My burden is great; will troubles ne’er cease?

Defend me, O Lord! Your mercy I plead.

You are my sole hope in hour of need!

My faith is in You, O God of my youth,

In knowing You care, Defender of Truth.

You will intercede in my darkest hour.

I trust in Your Word and infinite power.

When I have no hope, my hope is in You,

O Almighty God, in all You will do!
